Macildowie Associates are recruiting for a Learning and Development Consultant to work for their client who is a leading retailer recognised for value, choice and convenience. The business sells a wide range of products from 700 stores throughout the UK and Ireland and has a growing online business. A true success story reporting £4.2 billion in sales and employing over 30,000 people. The role will be a regional Learning and Development role that will cover the North Region covering the area of South Yorkshire through to Scotland.You will work closely with operational and HR professionals in order to provide training consultancy expertise in the development of the operations strategic plan. You will work closely with the Learning and Development Manager in the design and implementation of the Regional Learning and Development plan which will support the agreed national training agenda. You will develop the regional store management population, supporting the store management induction and development programmes. You will be responsible for the design and delivery of appropriate learning interventions to train and develop the store manager population within your region in order continuously improve performance and encourage a strong customer focused culture throughout the organisation. Alongside this you will implement appropriate evaluation and assessment methods in order to monitor and continuously improve return of investment and individual and business performance. You will also recruit, retain and develop the Retail Regional Training Officer team so as to effectively resource the Regional Learning and Development planThe job-holder should have experience of the full training cycle Aware of current best practice in learning and development Well developed influencing, negotiating and strategic thinking skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills Well developed Project Management skills Experience of managing a small team Able to advise regarding the design and implementation of training and development interventions.
