Description: DescriptionCCL (www.cclglobal.com) has been requested by a major EPIC contractor to provide a Controls System Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager to work in a multidiscipline engineering design team involved in specification, detailed design and class approval of discreet control packages linked to common HMI. Will need to be able to travel overseas occasionally for package interface management. Client prefers candidates who live in the Aberdeen area or within easy travelling distance. A contract position with excellent rates.QualificationsIdeal candidate will have university education relevant to the role. In depth knowledge of MS Project, and PLC and SCADA controls is highly desirable. Confident and self motivated individual who remains calm under pressure. Excellent communicator with fluent written and spoken English essential for preparation of manuals and procedures. Also must be able to distil complex issues into concise instructions and specifications. Must eligible to live and work in the UK.ExperienceMust demonstrate experience of team leadership and working within large multidiscipline teams. Have experience of formal engineering and design control processes and class submissions. Role is likely to include technical responsibility for electronic and control system installation on board vessels and offshore platforms and will involve some onsite working. Key duties include: preparation of technical specifications; technical liaison and monitoring of sub-contractors; design of electronic systems; ensuring compliance with project specifications / all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed; preparation of design and installation specifications; preparation of design calculations; manufacture, testing and commissioning support; installation, commissioning, start-up and operational support; submissions / liaison with class society. Able pick up, maintain engineering delivery plans and set team priorities to deliver accordingly.
