Description: This leading contractor is looking for an experienced construction-based Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based in Sheffield. Typical duties for the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will include: - Carrying out surveying and commercial activities to meet the project objectives. - Plan, manage, and monitor the project objectives to reflect the best practice of the business. - Understand the contractual, commercial and legal process relating to the project. - Identifying the appropriate financial solutions to problems that may occur. - Ensuring the benefits of technical and financial progress are included in the surveying process. - Preparing detailed analyses necessary for the close out of projects. - Liaising with other members of the commercial team, project managers and clients. The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have relevant experience within planning or surveying of building projects preferably for a main contractor, ideally having worked on big budget projects. As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will need to demonstrate varied construction knowledge, be skilled in general IT and planning software and have an understanding of the processes that drive a project from design to completion. You will need to be highly organised working on multiple projects at any one time, and be able to deliver to tight deadlines when required.
