Description: Since 1974 our client has provided a bespoke turnkey service; has designed & built more car parks across the country than any other. They are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Manager for the Harrogate area.Responsibilities will include the management the health & safety department, monitoring, advising, supporting, enforcing and reporting upon standards of Health & Safety and compliance within statute and company requirements.Primary Objectives:*Ensure that all managers/employees are aware of and comply with all current Health and Safety legislation.*Manage the health & safety department comprising of a number of safety advisors*Ensure full compliance with the Group Safety Policy. *Provide leadership and support to managers on all matters of safety. *Continually assess and improve Health and Safety standards within the company*Carry out site and office inspections as necessary and provide written reports*Provide guidance on corrective actions required following inspections.*Deliver health and safety training as required.*Prepare accurate and realistic reports for Board meetings. The successful candidate will:*Have construction experience.*Be able to demonstrate knowledge of construction safety issues. *Be fully conversant with relevant safety legislation. *Have a minimum of MIOSH/NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.*Be able to work under pressure and use own initiative.*Be I.T. literate.*Have excellent oral and written communication skill.*Be able to both manage/lead and work as part of a team. *Have a full driving licence and be able to travel frequently This is an excellent opportunity with an excellent salary and benefits package.
