Description: Graduate Engineering Geologist - YORK £17,500-£19,000 + BENEFITS (Flexible dependent on specific experience) Our client is a international engineering consultancy with interests on every continent. They are currently looking to rebuild their Geotechnical capacity in Leeds on the back of continued contract wins in the Highway and Rail sectors.The intermediate engineer work closely with a Senior and a Principal Engineer to formulate both site investigation strategies and design recommendations. Duties Planning and execution of Ground conditions investigations Review of Factual reporting Rail and Highways Foundation design work Slope stability analysis on embankments and retaining wall design Geohazard response Assistance in business development and client liaison wherever possible Background: Engineering Geology/Geotechnical academic qualifications - Geology, Applied Geology, Soil Mechanics, Foundation engineering etc. Any exposure to commercial geotechnics would be a boon. Typical Projects Our clients main interests are large scale geotechnical works for infrastructure developments. This runs from remediating geohazards such as a retaining wall failiure and embankment instability through to foundation investigation and design.
