Security Analyst required to fulfil the need to support an Auditing infrastructure for a Government Account. We are seeking an individual with excellent technical analysis skills who uses knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to perform the necessary tasks related to scrutinising a secure infrastructure.
Must have or be able to gain the Government Security Clearance SC level.
Job Description:
The Security Analyst will be required to monitor and scrutinise infrastructure anomalies and
report findings to technical and non technical teams.Working under the direction of an Incident Manager as part of a team that will eventually provide 24x7 cover.
- Analyse alerts produced by IDS/IPS
- Process the alerts appropriately depending on whether they are determined to be:
a) an incident
b) a problem
c) a false positive
d) a log input misconfiguration
e) an informational alert.
- Raise problems in accordance with agreed Service LevelsThe ideal candidate should have broad technical security knowledge, sound network infrastructure knowledge and in depth understanding of protocol and network capture diagnostics. Ideally the candidate should be familiar with Ethereal, sniffer or similar. The individual should have a general understanding of more than one operating system and have a good understanding of application and network vulnerabilities.The candidate should be experienced with McAfee Intrusion Detection Systems and Intrusion Prevention Systems. It would be beneficial to have experience of and other IDS/IPS products/vendors.Qualifications/Skills :
Essential:

Document to a high standard
Evidence of proactively supporting secure Enterprise network solutions.
Experienced with IDS/IPS McAfee systems.
History of infrastructure support.
Evidence of broad security knowledge
Knowledge of OS, network and application vulnerabilities
Desirable:
Windows 2000/2003 Server and XP platform security experience
Unix OS experience
