Description: Are you a flexible and ambitious individual with a srong desire to make a difference? We have an exciting opportunity for a Equalities Manager.Based in Coventry, with weekly travel to London for the next 12 months you will manage the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion programme of work across the organisation with responsibility for developing and implementing strategies and policies that will raise the profile of diversity and inclusion issues and ensure the companies divisions are compliant Role Context: Reporting directly into Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs and managing a budget of £100k you will work across 2 sites with a 500 staff split.Key Accountabilities: Ensuring the company is compliant with its legislative corporate responsibilities as a named employer and leading on equalities best practice Developing and implementing the corporate equalities framework and policies including the Single Equality Scheme. Leading on new equalities reporting and evaluation systems such as the monitoring system, impact assessment process and toolkit, consultation and training strategiesChampioning and managing the holistic corporate six strand programme for the company and Mainstreaming diversity and inclusion into day to day responsibilities of all staff Establishing and developing effective corporate partnership links with stakeholder organisations and individuals Ensuring strategic services are compliant with DDA and other equalities legislation and ensuring data requirements are understood and appropriate research commissioned; Reporting to the Board on diversity and inclusion issues and acting as a central point of expertise. Designing and delivering corporate equalities training and professional development for all staff Provision of advice and assistance on equality and diversity issues Supervising and managing relevant inward and outward facing corporate diversity and inclusion events such as the corporate equalities week and diversity and inclusion forumManaging Diversity and Inclusion budget Person SpecificationApplicants will be expected to show evidence of:Qualifications and TrainingNo specific qualifications required although experience of working equalities programme management is essential Excellent knowledge and understanding of equalities legislation and current practice Excellent knowledge of the impact assessment Experience of management of advisory panels, internal strategy groups and other networks Experience of working in a similar roleDemonstrable experience of developing and delivering equalities training programmes Proven ability to draft corporate equality documents such as equality schemes, annual reports, and equality policies
