Description: Trade Counter Sales Assistant (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Saturday (Rota basis for Saturdays) Job Purpose: To assist in the running of the Trade Counter which includes customer service, assembly of customer orders along with other warehouse duties. Main Accountabilities: Delivery of market leading levels of customer service to Trade Counter customers. Building and maintenance of strong relationships with local customers. Provision of technical/product/catalogue support to Trade Counter customers. Active support of marketing promotions. Proactive acquisition (account opening) of new spending customers. Generation of incremental sales through point of sale opportunity selling. Support for management and development of stores solutions to those customers where we manage their inventory. Efficient, effective and accurate processing of transactions for order processing and warehouse/stock management activities. Efficient, effective and accurate implementation of processes within all areas of Trade Counter operation. Build and maintain good working relationships with key personnel in all departments. Exercise flexible and proactive approach to working within small/medium sized team. Achievement of personal objectives in support of delivery of branch targets. Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service and soft sales skills. Experience working in a retail/warehouse environment. PC Literacy and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent. Desirable Experience of working in a process focused organisation. Technical/Product/catalogue knowledge. Ability to work under pressure in customer facing environment. Further Information: Critical components of the role which would present the most challenges to the Trade Counter Sales Assistants are: Operating in a busy customer facing environment, with some customers requiring high level of support. Driving sales through use of marketing promotions and maximising point of sale selling opportunities. Working as part of a small/medium sized team with frequent needs to swap between customer facing and operational activities. Adapting to changing environment. This role is full time and the holidays are based on 24 days per annum (depending on start date).
