Description: The description of the position will depend on the depth of experience of the candidate but in general, the following would be part of the role:Day-to-day responsibilities will include but not exclusive to:·Assist other structural colleagues on Projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines including building and bridge structural engineers. ·Assist projects and project management. ·Responsible for the production of design solutions and drawings, covering a range of project requirements from new build to modification, maintenance and refurbishment. ·Contribute to risk assessment and specification document. ·Assist in the management of new graduate engineers supporting their development and capability. ·Preparation of Desk Studies, specification and supervision Site investigation and supervision ·Monitoring and site assessment ·Scheduling geotechnical laboratory testing ·Become involved in ground interpretation and geotechnical analysis ·Produce interpretative report writing and present to management Candidate specification: Candidates will have relevant engineering academic qualifications, ideally be working towards chartership or have recently completed their chartership. Successful Candidates are likely to have the following characteristics:·Relevant engineering academic background with an engineering degree (or equivalent) and ideally a masters degree. ·Chartered status will benefit an applicant, however candidate working towards this will also be equally considered ·Experience of working with the Highways Agency would be advantageous as well as representing the company to clients ·Be innovative looking to develop their technical and management skills and the willingness to tackle any challenge ·A personal commitment to deliver high-quality and value adding engineering capability to the client. ·Good communication skills. ·A driving license is equivalent.
