Job Summary
Applications are invited for a Production Engineer within the Electrical Machines section of the Manufacturing Department, The purpose of the role is to provide production engineering service for the electrical machines manufacturing unit and increase the production process efficiency of the cell/line.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, by utlising knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards
- Analyse processes: cycle timing work studies, balance tasks to meet time requirement
- Analyse quality issues by using problem solving techniques
- Estimate production times, staff requirements and related costs to procure information for management decisions
- Confer with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate and improve production processes
- Participate and implement Lean initiatives and any other improvements within the area
Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure all equipment & machinery meets or exceeds statutory regulations
- Ensure all equipment and machinery risk assessments are completed
- Responsible for self and others
- To cooperate fully with all safe working practices
- Contribute to the implementation of such practices when necessary
Requirements
The successful candidate should have at least a HNC in Mechnical or Production engineering and substantial experience in a simialar role. A solid background in manufacturing principles is desirable. You should be able to demonstrate your problem solving skills and skills in process analysis would be advantageous. You will need to have a good knowledge of both Word & Excel packages.

You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to be decisive when necessary. You should have a resilient and persistent nature as well as the ability to think 'outside of the box'. Ideally you will show leadership potential and the ability to adapt to change. You will need to be a good team player and have a flexible approach.
