Description: Purchaser / Buyer (with a manufacturing background - purchasing compoments from overseas and within the UK) required close to Portsmouth. Our Client develops and manufactures products supplied to the Defence and Industrial/Commercial organisations and offers a competitive salary. benefits include 25 days holiday, Pension and PMI. Your role will involve: - Carrying out the procurement of all raw materials to specified MRP controllers - expedite purchase orders - actively seek to reduce supplier lead times - develop suppliers with the aim of reducing overall costs - monitor supplier performance - identify possible improvements in any aspects of supplier or purchasing function - bring the SAP system up to date and maintain good, clear records of pattern changes - Produce your own purchase order, update prices and delivery information as necessary. You will ideally be someone who has the following: - 3+ years of actual buying experience in a Manufacturing environment - Good personal presentation - Have a good telephone manner - Be able to deal effectively with all manner of people and / or situations We are an established Engineering Employment Business and Agency with over 20 years experience, providing recruitment services to our candidates and clients.
