Description: The Job: Our client is seeking Tunnelling Engineers to join their project team on a major highways / tunnelling project in the South East Region. This major, £300m+ contract for the Highways Agency is set to run until 2011 and comprises 1.8km of twin-bore tunnel and 6.5km of two lane dual carriageway making it one of the most complex and challenging projects currently undertaken in the UK. Tunnelling Engineers are required at all levels and will be assigned to the construction of a section of the SCL Tunnel where duties will include: · setting out of line and level, monitoring of TBM, · maintaining health, safety and quality · overseeing sub-contractors · engineering / design solutions · liaison with 3rd parties This is an excellent opportunity to join the UK's foremost Civils Contractor on one of their flagship tunnels schemes where you will get to work alongside some of the best and highly skilled engineers working in the UK today. Salary levels are dependent on experience Person Specification: Must have experience working on construction of SCL (Sprayed Concrete Lined) Tunnels, Current / Recent employment with blue chip civils contractor as Site/Section/Senior Engineer, Preferably degree qualified - Minimum HNC/D Civil Engineering, Experienced in Setting Out using EDM / Levels, Hard Working, Intelligent, Proactive, Problem Solver, IT Literate The Client: Our client, a major UK civil engineering contractor, is a dynamic resource of proven and extensive civil engineering and project management skills, delivering engineering excellence through cost-efficient, client focused solutions from minor works through to major infrastructure projects.
