Description: Private Quantity Surveyor Small Private Practise Projects up to 55million - Including International JobsMy client is a small Private Practise established in 1987 with a turnover of approximately 150 million pounds. They are a well networked firm whose work is carried out through recommendations. Their projects are varied and include; Retirement Homes, Hotels, Luxury High-End Houses, Banks and even a Sikh Centre. The company is based in a cosy converted residence on the South West London / Surrey Border within a close and relaxed environment with free on the street parking.Duties and responsibilities:* Production of detailed costings for the proposed project, giving the client both guidance and advice.* The PQS may or may not be resident on site (depending on the value and commercial complexity of the project).* Responsible for taking an active role in managing costs on the job (always looking after the clients interests).* Liaising with the contractors Quantity Surveyor in agreeing payments for work undertaken and addressing contractual issues.* On larger projects, responsible for ?Measurement Engineers` responsible for the re- measuring elements of the contractors work in order to validate the application for payment.* On completion of the project, the PQS would work in conjunction with the ?Residential Engineer` on agreeing, negotiating and setting the final account with the contractor.* Responsible for preparing a defence against any contractual claims between the client and contractor that may arise.The ideal candidate will be a Surveying Graduate with at least some industry experience and will be either Chartered or working towards Chartered status.If home is a drive away and you enjoy working in a friendly environment with great career prospects then this is could be the job for you!
