Description: Principal Thermal EngineerPortsmouth, Hampshire, South EastSalary negotiable depending on experience - excellent benefits packageWe are a recruitment agency and we are currently looking for a Principal Thermal Engineer for our Portsmouth based client.The Principal Thermal Engineer will be an experienced Engineer within this field.Job Profile" Achieve solutions (with some guidance) to structural or thermal analysis tasks and problems, as assigned by line manager and detailed by project work packages. Work within budgets and schedules. Communicate solutions effectively." At system or component level, perform analysis, design/development and testing activities as appropriate." Supervise and support junior engineers." Familiarisation with company standards, procedures, processes and work practices." Determine specification environments for subcontracted equipment, and review subcontract design and analysis. " Maintain design files for all work undertaken." Support preparation of bids, proposals, work estimates and technical presentations." Develop and improve working practices and methods.Qualifications and Skills" Essential: o Degree in Mechanical Engineering (1st or 2nd class honours) or similar subject, or equivalent HND/HNC.o Ability to use CAD/CAE tools, specifically IDEAS TMG.o Presentation and communications skills, document and specification writing, team working." Desirable: o Mechanical design and analysis skillso Well organised, pro-active.o Programming experience (VB etc)Previous Experience" Essential: o At least five years post graduate experience of mechanical engineering in space industry."
