Description: Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS) - Loughton, EssexStart ASAP - Full time role. Working on the site, you will be responsible for overseeing the complex trade / sub contract packages on a new build educational project for a main contractor.£28m scheme comprises construction of a 3/4 storey college of further education with classrooms, workshops, mezzanine floors, 133 seat lecture theatre, boiler room, entrance and reception, library, student refectory and coffee shop, ancillary offices, toiletsThe successful candidate will ensure compliance with Main and Sub-Contract conditions in order to protect the business in terms of actions arising during the contract period. You will maintain tight controls and provide accurate and timely advice of risks on all issues affecting the contracts. Main Duties include: · Familiarise contract documentation to ensure a working knowledge. · Ensure the business interests are maintained as required with notification of all matters relating to contract. · Ensure timely and accurate payments of subcontractors with supporting documentation. · Attend, note and chase actions from monthly site meetings. · Preparation of Sub Contract tender enquiries. · Provide active cost control advice, reporting and explaining any cost movement. · Liaise and build relationships to ensure effective communications with all departments. · Ensure timely applications for payment in accordance with contract including monitoring receipt. · Cross check monthly cost reports to ensure accuracy and correct allocations of costs. The candidate must have first class analytical skills, good communication skills, be numerate with a flair for figures and be computer literate.
