Description: Major Defence Company are currently looking for Safety and Reliability Engineer to under take a generation of Safety and Reliability programme plans and the agreement of such plans with the customer; commensurate with requirements of DEF-STAN-00-56 and the DEF-STAN- 00-40 series of standards.Responsibilities:-·Conduct a series of system and subsystem and reliability assessment activities, in support of the construction of product safety and reliability cases as required during all life cycle phases. ·Hazard identification processes (SWIFT, HAZOP) ·Preliminary Hazard assessments and construction of a hazard log·Hazard management and analysis, including accident sequence evolution and fault event tree·Plus other responsibilities which will be divulged on a more detailed job spec.Knowledge and Abilities:-·Knowledge of Safety and Reliability Defence Standards and assessment processes·Knowledge and experience of constructing safety and reliability cases, S&R reports and plans and in use of the tools and techniques that are involved in safety case construction e.g. fault finding trees etc. ·Ability to concise and credible arguments from a wide variety of supporting information including system design test specification.·Customer focussed with ability to apply specialist assessment techniques·Clear presentation skills and accurate report writing style·Goal orientated team player·Educated to a degree level (desirable)·3+ years Experience in safety, reliability and systems engineering (desirable)·Systems design (desirable)·Weapons Engineering back ground (desirable)·Previous METEOR experience (desirable)This position is based in Bristol and is a 6month contract.Please send your CV to Due to the specific nature of this role, candidates holding current SC clearance are highly desirable.
