Our client is looking to appoint a Laboratory Technician to join their team in Scunthorpe.Candidates will be responsible for carrying out routine testing of aggregate, asphalt, concrete, mortar and other associated products as required. Completing Quality Reports and Maintaining Records of Testing.Successful candidates must be self-starters and able to motivate themselves on their own initiaitve.Due to the nature of the industry some weekend and nightshift working will be required as a normal part of the role.You should also have an understanding of the following:Sampling Bituminous MaterialSampling Drystone MaterialParticle Size DistributionCoated AnalysisTemperatures (+limits)Sample ReductionSimple CalibrationsUse of Lab ComputerElongation TestingCommon SpecificationsRecording ComplaintsFlakiness TestingSampling CertificationMathematical Manual CalculationsSampling of FillerBasic understanding of Aggregate Processing and Coating Plant OperationsSampling of BitumenBasic QAIdentify Non-ConformitiesOrganoleptic ChecksStock InspectionH&S Knowledge/ ProceduresManual HandlingAggregates in ConstructionAsphalt in Flexible Pavements
