Description: Job Description Job Title Business Development Manager Department Sales Reporting to General Sales Manager - UK Purpose of the Job To identify and target new and incremental business opportunities in existing Mail Order, E-Tail and other large customers. Accountabilities Achieving sales targets measured in GP generated from new and/ or incremental business opportunities. Role location The role is office based for 80% of the individual’s hours and 20% externally based currently. During FY 09 it is anticipated that this will change to a 50% internal 50% external focus. Job Content and Context 1. To achieve sales targets as determined by your manager. 2. To identify and target new and incremental business opportunities in existing Mail Order, E-Tail and other large customer accounts. 3. To win new business and ensure the smooth transition of these new business accounts to the relevant channel managers within agreed timelines. 4. To be your customers “champion”. To set and drive high service levels for the customer which adds tangible value add service. 5. To work closely with product management to feed back all relevant current vendor specific information obtained from customers. In addition, feedback any new vendor opportunities identified. 6. To communicate regularly with the relevant internal sales executives regarding activity and progress within the named accounts they manage. (Using appropriate mediums such as 1-1 meetings, telephone conference calls, reports etc) 7. To produce regular updates feedback and report activities to your line manager within agreed timelines. 8. To complete any ad hoc duties determined by your manager. 9. To be punctual and appropriately attired at all times. To demonstrate a polite and courteous approach to all stakeholders. Performance Standards 1. Sales targets are achieved as agreed with your line manager. 2. Within existing Mail Order, E-Tail and other large customer accounts new and incremental business opportunities are identified and then effectively targeted. 3. New business accounts are targeted and won. Following the establishment of the new customer relationship, the business is professionally transitioned over to the relevant channel sales manager and their team. 4. To be known by your customers as theirchampion, having set and driven high performance standards which demonstrate tangible value. 5. Product management regularly receive appropriate communication in respect of exiting and /or new vendors. 6. Internal sales executives regularly receive appropriate communication in respect of activity and progress with named accounts they manage. 7. Your line manager receives regular updates feedback and report activities within agreed timelines. 8. All ad hoc duties are completed as required by your manager. Candidate Profile: Business Development Manager Candidate Profile Must have Desirable Work experience A good knowledge of the Mail Order / E-tail IT reseller channel in the UK. At least 3 years selling experience. Working knowledge of the IT channel. An interest in IT Customer facing experience
