Description: David Lister are hoping to appoint from September 2008 a Teacher of English on a permanent basis.  David Lister School is situated on the eastern edge of the City of Hull and serves an urban/inner-city community consisting of large estates and mostly owned by the City Council and privately owned homes. David Lister School is a maintained co-education comprehensive school, and has approximately 1,400 students aged 11-16. In September 2007, David Lister School merged with Isaac Newton School. It currently operates on two sites; the West site has all year groups and the East site has part of Year 11 which was previously at Isaac Newton. The school expects this site to close at the end of this academic year. The main purpose of the school is to provide professional teaching for students of all abilities to ensure improved standards of learning and achievement. Classroom teachers provide a good example to the students they teach, through their presentation and their personal and professional conduct. They are committed to ensuring each student is given the opportunity to achieve their potential and meet the high expectations set for them. Required on a permanent basis from September 2008, a Teacher of English to teach up to Key Stage 4.  Applications are welcome from both Qualified and Newly Qualified Teachers. The school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and youngpeople and any offer of employment to this post will be subject to receiptof a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
