Description: Systems EngineerThe CompanyAn Independent British Electronic Warfare System Company.Developed a range of RF and Electro-Optic stimulators and Flight Line Test Sets for Military Airborne applications.In-addition the company specialises in EW related research, study and in-service support activity on behalf of UK Government agencies and to Prime Contractors both in the UK and overseas.The company employ a team of EW systems specialists Software and Product Design Engineers.The JobPurposeSupport the design, development and support of products for the military market.Responsibilities:·Interpret requirement specifications and propose cost effective system solutions exploiting existing company technology and identifying and minimising where new designs are required.·Perform innovative design for new and enhanced products, and see those designs through to efficient production, test and integration ensuring that regulatory requirements are met, both civil and military.·Support products throughout their lifetime. In particular, maintain a cost effective design in the face of changing technology and obsolescence issues and keep products up to date with emerging customer requirements. In addition, provide direct assistance to customers when required on technical issues, including experimental trials.·Provide technical support to the efforts of Marketing in the acquisition of new business.·Manage the labour and material spend on work packages, thus meeting or improving on agreed budgets.Provide support to Programmes on technical decisions and estimating at project reviews.·Work towards the collective growth and improvement of the Engineering Department and its working practices.Person SpecificationQualificationsDegree level in an associated Engineering disciplineExperienceExperience in design and productionisation of complex analogue and digital PCBsExperience in systems level performance specificationDevelopment of products for the military market from concept to production.Knowledge and SkillsUnderstanding of mechanical and software interfaces.Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and Word, Labview and ProtelPersonal QualitiesTeam player able to assist as required to meet tight deadlinesAbility to meet own cost and time budgetsWork independently to meet requirements
