Description: Senior Installation Design Engineer / Naval Communications SystemsThe CompanyBased in Gosport, Hampshire a leading CEM/OEM manufacturer supplying mission critical applications to the defence (air, land and sea) rail and medical sectors. Offering full design, installation, PCB assembly (SMT and Conventional), Box build, cable and wiring harness assembly, fabrication, repair, modification, test services and through life support.Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:·The production of Installation Guidance Packages (IGP’s) and Category 4A Installation Specifications to Def Stan 02-40. ·The generation of Level 1, 2 & 3 Guidance Information (GI) to SSP 67.·The production of electrical and mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings to Def Stan 02-722, including the management, administration and upkeep of drawings and design documentation.·Pre & Post installation site surveys and the co-ordination of installation progress with Shipbuilders, Naval Bases, Platform Groups & SWSE’s.·Represent the Company on installation and design matters at customers contract review / progress meetings. The Successful Candidate Will:·Be proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Microsoft – Office / Word / Excel & Access.Adobe – Acrobat 7.0.·Have preferably gained experience in Naval SATCOM communications systems.·Hold suitable qualifications to ONC/HNC level.·Be expected to work with the minimum of supervision from the Project Manager.
