Description: Job Title: Software Team Leader Location: Yorkshire Salary: To £45,000pa + Bens The Background Having evolved from a small company into an international leader in their field, this high-technology company is further extending investment in R&D to grow the business into new areas and extend its lead in the market. An exciting range of products is currently under development, and the company is looking for a Software Team Leader to join the team and help to realise these products. The Role Working as Software Team Leader, you and the team will be responsible for designing and verifying software aspects of the team's products, integrating major software blocks and ensuring that all operate optimally within the overall system. The Team Leader will work closely with the custom logic and hardware teams in order to bring quality products to market within margin and planning targets. The Person The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate success in the development of large, complex software systems and have excellent skills in management of people. Your achievements and ambition will be key, but it is likely that you will hold a Degree, Post-Graduate qualification, or equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or an appropriate discipline. The key technical capabilities for this role are listed below. You may not have skills in all of the areas listed, however you will demonstrate skills in some and experience in integrating them into a larger system. Object Oriented Design and Programming Programming with C or C++ Embedded software development and real-time operating systems MPEG transport stream processing and decoding; DVB SI and PSI High-speed network interfaces and associated stacks; TCP/IP, USB, IEEE 1394 Interfacing software with digital hardware Knowledge of AV-related network protocols; RTP, RTSP Knowledge of the DOCSIS cable data standard Knowledge with open embedded operating systems such as Linux a benefit This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual to be involved in defining the future of both the company and the industry.
