Description:
Newly created post to assist the Head of Parking in the effective management of people, resources and operations and Developing sustained, continuous improvement strategies for the service.
You will lead value for money reviews of parking services, lead on implementation of the newly procured parking management information system and have direct managerial responsibility for three officers.
BRC are currently seeking a Senior Manager from a public sector background to carry out the role of Deputy Head of Parking in East London.
The purpose of the job is:
Improving services and increasing opportunities for all, raising the life chances of the most disadvantaged; Ensuring the Council is high performing and efficient; Providing effective community leadership and involving the whole borough in what we do.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:
The DHOP will have management responsibilities for the following:
1. To ensure compliance with the Councils performance and project management standards and take the appropriate action to address issues that may arise.
2. To manage the service in a manner that is consistent with the Councils Equality and Diversity Policy.
3. To assist and deputise for the Head of Parking with responsibility or a service with approximately 100 FTE officers.
4. To be directly responsible for a team of up to three FTE officers.
SPECIFIC SERVICE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To undertake other duties commensurate with the grading of the post as may be determined.
2. To lead on Service improvements undertake a full review of the service thorough continuous assessment, bring about innovative solutions and improve customer satisfaction ratings.
3. To assist and advise the Head of Parking in the effective management of people, resources and operations.
4. To assist and advise the Head of Parking in developing sustained, continuous improvement strategies for the service.
5. To be the lead officer on managing change across the service.
6. To lead value for money reviews of Parking Services as well as other Services as directed by the Assistant Director of Safer Neighbourhoods.
7. To lead on implementation of the new PMIS to deliver efficiencies and high quality customer focus outcomes.
8. To obtain best value, maximise efficiencies and to ensure PMIS user requirements are met in a more than adequate fashion.
9. To advise the HOP on best practice and cost efficiencies that can be made across Parking Services.
10. To be the lead officer on service on scoping, implementing recommendations from Audits conducted across parking.
11. To be the lead officer on implementing service first customer focused agenda across parking.
12. To lead and manage specific projects as directed by the AD of Safer Neighbourhoods.
13. To act as lead representative for Parking with external bodies such as London Councils, IDA, Partnerships in Parking, etc.
14. To be directly responsible for the development of the CPZ strategy to develop the 2012 Olympic agenda.
