This role is based at our Bletchley site in Milton Keynes. The principal duties and responsibilities includeAs the Proposal Engineer, you will own and manage all proposal activities within a defined vertical and regional market for the Manufacturing Process Solutions Team. You will work closely with the sales, marketing and delivery teams to drive the proposal process using the customer centric selling model. The Proposals Engineer is required to identify and formulate solutions which meet the customer’s technical andcommercial requirements. Your solutions will need to be fully costed and professionally presented to the customer, clearly defining the scope of services and delivery timeline.Further tasks include:• Interpreting/understanding customer requirements and from these formulate viable solutions.• Taking responsibility for proposal generation against defined customer requirements. • Responsible for the preparation and presentation of quotes and sales proposals, in compliance with Rockwell Automation policies and standards after obtaining the appropriate approvals.• Consult with other functions on issues like pricing, product specification, warranties and product adaptation, ensuring the provision of appropriate business and technical solutions.• A degree of flexibility is essential as you will be required to visit customer sites to support bids.• Manage cost calculations through liaison with project team members, project managers, product specialists, sales and vendors.Your background and skillsMinimum Qualifications• Degree qualified in Technology (Chemical or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent experience.• Broad knowledge of ‘total automation solutions’, based on the RA Integrated Architecture,including services, buyouts like panel building, networking, interfacing to 3rd party equipment. • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages a bonus.• Ability to travel up to 50% (within UK and EMEA)Desired Qualifications• Extensive knowledge of industrial automation.• Experience with direct customer contact. • Information & Control Engineering/Sales Experience.• Knowledge of Sales engagement process.• Ability to write clear and concise proposal documents• Autonomous, proactive and independent worker.Why join us?Rockwell Automation is far from being just another employer.Through innovation, flexibility, opportunity and development we set the standards in our markets.That’s why working for Rockwell Automation is far from just another job.
