Description: Ingredients Procurement Manager required by a highly regarded chilled food organisation based in York.Reporting to the Site Manager the main duties will include:To identify and investigate purchasing opportunities of raw materials to maximiseperformance whilst ensuring the availability, quality and cost effectiveness of the supply of ingredients. Responsible for ensuring that all departments on site are involved and aware of any changes to be made. Work closely with the NPD Department in sourcing new suppliers and sampling products.Analyse existing suppliers in terms of cost and quality of product and review.The ideal candidate will have proven experience of a food manufacturing environment, preferably in short shelf life production and of continuous improvement within a food environment. You will need strong negotiation skills coupled with a critical approach to analysis of information. As well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions you must also have a clear and concise approach in giving verbal and written communication and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. With a good education preferably with in a food related subject and an understanding of agronomy or agriculture as a whole you will also have a working knowledge of Microsoft software packages and have a methodical and organised approach to work, both individually and as part of a team.This role is based on an interim contract starting immediately until January 2009
