My client, a lobbying organisation that aims to establish a vibrant voluntary and community sector, is looking to employ a Governance and Leadership Information & Communication Officer. The main scope of this interesting opportunity is to identify, develop and promote best practice in governance and leadership for third sector organisations and especially their support providers in relation to National Support Services.Summary of the role:Job title: Governance and Leadership Information & Communication Officer Salary: £29.494 – £31.057 per annumContract term: 18 monthLocation: Central LondonDuties and Key Responsibilitiesa) Identify, develop and promote best practice in governance and leadership for third sector organisations and their support providers in relation to the National Support Services work stream. 50 %• Research, develop and disseminate key emerging issues of importance to third sector organisations via articles, briefings, publications and presentations;• Draft or commission publications, information, materials, guidance, support and advice to third sector organisations and their support providers;• Map and analyse best practice and information and disseminate findings locally, regionally and nationally;• Represent the organisation at meetings and on representatives groups;• Make presentations and deliver training;• Develop and maintain networks of end-users to disseminate and share best practice information; b.) Develop partnerships with external agencies to cascade good practice to third sector organisations and their support providers at national, regional and local levels and delivering a programme of regional and sub-sectoral activity, alongside key partners. 25%c.) Planning – internal and external processes. 10% • Produce project plans in accordance with the organisations planning;• Ensure the service is self-sustaining by working with other members of the team to: identifying and pursuing funding and income generating opportunities.d.) Identify need and develop new tools to meet need. 15% e.) Develop project plans for new services and products. 10 %Person Specification:- A comprehensive understanding of the governance & leadership requirements of third sector organisations- Awareness of current best practice relating to governance and leadership development- Broad knowledge of the issues facing and operating environment of third sector organisations- Experience of analysing information from diverse sources and disseminating findings- Experience of producing and commissioning resource materials- Understanding of how to promote and disseminate good practice resources- Ability to plan, manage and deliver projects to agreed deadlines- Interpersonal skills and the ability to build partnerships with external agencies- Excellent writing and presentation skillsPlease apply for this role online ASAP.
