The role of Web Developer will focus onthe creation, deployment, support and maintenance of corporate websites, their underlying Content Management System (CMS), the group's Extranet and Intranet, and plays an important role within the group's marketing and communications strategy.It is expected that the successful applicant will have some expertise and a demonstrable interest in standard web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript and ASP. However, applicants with other relevant expertise, e.g. Java, Perl, PHP, SQL will also be considered. Exposure to development environments such as Visual Studio would be advantageous.Programming skills will be central to the role and it is expected that the successful applicant will have familiarity with some of the following: C#/VB.Net, SQL, VB Script, ActiveX, ASP, IIS, Flash, and Photoshop.Key areas within the role will include:Assisting in the development of my clients e-business strategy Help implement the latest technologies i.e. .Net The support and maintenance of all of my clients existing corporate web sites. New web application development The provision of web servicesThe successful Web Developer will be hands on and motivated being technically able to drive forward the future development of my clients business using their current knowledge and skills.The individual in this role should be able to work well on their own, and also be a good small team player. This post will ideally suit an enthusiastic individual keen to pursue a career in web development. The successful candidate will be literate, numerate and articulate.
