Description: Our client is an integrated waste management company operating throughout London and Greater London. Committed to the principle of sustainable waste management, their client base is varied and includes Government bodies, port authorities, commercial organisations and the armed forces. Working in a growth area means that there is constant demand for skilled and qualified engineers to maintain their heavy industrial range of equipment. As such, a vacancy has arisen for an Electrical Fitter based from their North London depot, which is easily commutable from the North Circular Road, M25, M10 and M11.You will be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical equipment installed across a number of sites and for the implementation of PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) on electrical equipment, e.g. conveyors, crane systems and motors, minimising machine breakdowns and reducing lead times. You will provide an efficient breakdown repair service, diagnosing running faults , carrying out installation works to the highest standards, completing routine inspections and liaising with outside contractors on specific repair and maintenance work. To succeed in this role, you will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or hold a recognised trade certificate such as City & Guilds or HND in Electrical Engineering. You will be ale to demonstrate a logical and systematic approach to fault-finding and possess relevant technical experience in repair, installation and PPM work in heavy process industry or another heavy industrial or engineering environment. You should ideally have some experience of PLC controlled equipment (ideally Allen Bradley), variable speed drives, high voltage and low voltage equipment and analysis and repair of pneumatic systems.
