The Role
A leading UK Logistics company is working on a contract for a major blue chip vehicle manufacturer.
The main purpose of the job is to ensure that the transport operations are effectively and efficiently managed in order to meet and exceed both the customers requirements.
Managing 120 staff, 70 vehicles (units and rigids) and 60 trailers. Delivering to over 600 delivery points and through the night roll cage deliveries with a £12 million plus budget.
To ensure that the key departments and teams that manage and impact on the transport operation work as an integrated and cohesive team.
General Responsibilities
·Ensure that the transport operation is carried out in line with our contractual requirements and in a generally effective manner.
·Ensure that appropriate resource planning is carried out.
·Ensure that all divisional and contract traffic office processes are followed correctly.
·Ensure that deliveries are achieved on time and in a high quality manner at all times.
·Ensure that operational and performance KPIs are in place, monitored and corrective actions devised and implemented as required.
·To closely monitor the client relationship and work in a pro-active fashion to ensure that the client relationship is optimised at all times and that any issues are appropriately addressed in the first instance and escalated if necessary.
·Establish and maintain a good teamwork environment. This includes both teamwork within the functions the jobholder is responsible for and team work between the job holders functions and the teams in other areas of the contract, specifically warehouse operations team.
·To design, implement and monitor the contract budget and apply timely corrective action to ensure achievement of the budget.
·To design, implement and monitor the annual contract business and training plan in line with client and divisional objectives.
