Description: They are looking for a temporary web editor to begin the role within the next few weeks and stay until at least October or until a permanent candidate can be found. You would be eligible to apply for the permanent post. Joining a team of 8, you will report into the Programme Manager, charged with leading the development of health informatics capacity and capability across the NHS in England.  A key group of stakeholders are the 25,000+ health informaticians working in the NHS but the work of the postholder has the potential to affect and support all NHS staff with an interest  in the role of information and IT in modernising healthcare and in particular, clinical professionals, senior managers and leaders.Your responsibilties will  include;- Source content for  web pages such as news stories, articles and links to relevant websites (summarising and contextualising content as required). - Write original material on health informatics topics, in conjunction with subject matter experts, in a style appropriate to the Health Informatics community. - Commission original articles for web pages. - Develop standards and style guidance advising contributors accordingly. - Ensure that  web pages are up-to-date, accurate and comply with NHS policies regarding accessibility, copyright, confidentiality and data protection, advising contributors accordingly. - Liaise closely with managers of other NHS CFH web pages (including "espace?) and with the NHS CFH Communications team to facilitate the sharing of information across NHS CFH and the NHS informatics community. - Liaise with identified stakeholders to ensure information about their organisations is correctly represented on the web pages. - Manage membership of relevant on-line forums and special interest groups and moderate discussion threads. - Encourage health informaticians to participate in web-based activity, like joining discussion threads and submitting articles through, for example, presentations to key stakeholder groups. - Train and support colleagues and moderators on tasks such as uploading content and managing discussion groups. - Produce the fortnightly Health Informatics Community web bulletin, mail canons and other materials as required. - Upload and maintain details of health informatics learning and development opportunities, and National Occupational Standards (developing and maintain search facility as required). - Routinely check functionality (eg, links active) and handle first-line technical problems, referring more complex issues to NHS CFH web team - Keep up to date with web developments so that Health Informatics pages continually improve (eg, with introduction of podcast facilities) - Establish and manage a group of stakeholders to provide strategic guidance and quality assurance support to the team's web sites. - Periodically seek users' views on the value of the web-based service. - Monitor performance against agreed key performance indicators and provide reports according to an agreed plan. - Provide advice and guidance to the team on the development of its web presence and identify opportunities to use web technologies in innovative ways to support HID business objectives. - Act as the first point of contact for queries and advice about the sites.
