Description: SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:Network Interface Software Development Engineeris responsible for defining/implementing and testing network interfaces (SNMP, TL1, CLI) for subsystems products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Designing network interfaces (SNMP, TL1, CLI) for subsystems products. Producing architecture and High level design documents,. Implementing software designs in C/C++.Unit testing of written code. Participation in peer code reviews. Investigation of technical issues during verification phase of product development.JOB CHALLENGES:Ability to architect network interfaces. Working under tight timelines.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalentKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:(for CV to qualify for an interview for this role, candidate must have experience in more than half of the list below)C/C++ (essential)SNMP agent /MIBTL1CLIEmbedded databases TCP/IPVx-works Development and debugging tool suiteGraphical User Interface (GUI) design.Telecoms Network ArchitectureGENERAL SOFTWARE SKILLS:Experience in software product development, Structured Design Process (Design Specifications, Software Design), Coding in C, C++, UDP Sockets, Software Testability Issues.Knowledge of the telecom market, SDH/Sonet, optical technology, internet protocols, packet switching. Knowledge of current technologies in the area of network processing, especially optical transmission - DWDM, amplification, packet switching and filtering. Configuration Management tools and Problem Tracking tools experience.Multi site development experience would be an advantage.Digital hardware knowledge would be an advantageEXPERIENCE:5 years minimum telecom industry experience.PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS Good analytical skills, ability to work in teams.Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.Please email your cv and covering letter to angela@crconline.co.uk
