Description: Job title:Computer Programmer / Web developerSalary:£20,000 to £30,000 per year, depending on experience.Benefits:Flexible working hours, 20 days holiday, health cash plan, childcare voucher scheme, flexi-time available.Location:Inkberrow, near Worcester.Job term:Initially 18 month contract with possible extension to permanent position.Start date:Immediate.Keywords:PHP, MySQL, VB.NET, Excel, VBA, HTML, CSS.Company background:One of the country’s leading and fastest growing provider of childcare vouchers, supplying to a wide range of employers in both the public and private sectors, with clients including household names, local government, police forces and NHS Trusts.We are seeking an individual with technical expertise to further develop the existing user-friendly on-line systems and automated administration processes.Job description:The main duties are:i)Writing efficient and manageable code (Excel VBA, HTML, PHP, SQL, VB.NET, ASP.NET etc) to agreed deadlines.ii)Database design.iii)Testing the software and writing comprehensive documentation for the resulting applications.iv)Maintaining the office server environment, including adding/removing user profiles, installing new hardware (computers and printers) etc.Job applicant requirements:The ideal applicant will have a 2:1 degree (or higher) in either Mathematics or in Computing Science, and will have at least 2 years commercial experience developing software and creating secure, high-performance web applications.The candidate will have:i)Excellent problem solving skills.ii)Report writing skills.iii)Good attention to detail.iv)Ability to quickly understand new concepts.v)A flair for application design, either as a software engineer or a user interface designer.The candidate must have experience of the following:i)PHPii)MySQLiii)HTMLiv)Creating Excel based applications using VBAv)Good understanding of internet technologies and their underlying protocolsvi)VB.NETvii)CSSAlthough not a requirement, candidates with the following desirable experiences will have an advantage:i)ASP.NETii)XMLiii)Principles of APIsiv)Javav)Adobe Creative Suitevi)Graphic designIf you are interested in this role or would like more details please feel free to call Karl Scott of Premiere People on 01386 40139.
