Description: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Food Buyer to join an ever expanding successful retailer to optimise the purchasing of an ambient food category through professional negotiation, innovation and effective management of supplier relationships. Having gained experience preferably within another leading multiple retailer / wholesaler you will be required to review and negotiate all supplier contracts and agreements in line with company procedures and purchasing ethics to ensure product purchasing at best possible prices. Key responsibilities will include: - To manage the supplier partnership for relevant fresh food category - To drive Innovation and NPD in line with the category business strategy as set out by the business managers and trading team - To participate in the development of the category business strategies with the business managers and associated stakeholders - Ensure the fresh food category leads the market on food safety and nutrition world trends To succeed in this role you will need great communication skills, a strong eye for detail and a solid track record of successful negotiation.
